Ross-on-Wye - Kerne Bridge - Ross-on-Wye Walk

WalkExplorer

A long but rewarding walk, which starts at Wilton Bridge just outside Ross-on-Wye and follows the River Wye for five and a half miles to Kerne Bridge. This part of the walk is mostly flat, but there are a couple of short climbs up steep banks, where woodland hugs the river's edge. There are quite a few trees which have come down across the path on this part of the walk; all are passable with care but be prepared to climb over, under or in some cases between the branches. Just before reaching Kerne Bridge, the remains of Goodrich Castle are encircled. It sits high on a rocky outcrop overlooking the river.

From Kerne Bridge, the Wye Valley Walk is followed back to Ross-on-Wye. The path is mostly in woodland and has some steep climbs, but you are rewarded with some breathtaking views.
