Tatton Park and Knutsford Walk

The walk is largely confined to the 1,000 acres of Tatton Park but has a short extension into Knutsford so that the whole perimeter can be explored - that still leaves the central section! The deer are more easily seen by walking away from the house - as is described in the text.

Although the grounds are, of course, starker in winter, this is probably the best time to see the deer close up, since they are fed supplements of root vegetables at this time. This is also a good time for birdwatching - there is plenty to see on the lakes plus the usual winter visitors like fieldfares and woodland birds like nuthatches and treecreepers.
